The prismatic effect is achieved when the dirt or grime is removed from the crystals. Improper or irregular cleaning can ruin the crystals or the frame. The most important rule when you clean your chandelier is to treat it carefully. Otherwise, you will scratch and damage easily the chandelier, especially its frame if you are not gentle. Your first step will be to remove light bulbs and crystals. You need to use only soft and cotton cloths. You should not use paper towels because they will leave scratches on the crystal.
You should not spray cleaner directly on any part of the chandelier. It is not recommendable to put the crystals in the dishwasher because it is not safe.
